Launch of Maruti’s first electric car

Business Business: The wait for Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car ends tomorrow on November 4. The company plans to unveil the final version of the eVX production specification in Milan, Italy. This makes the eVX a global product for parent company Suzuki, as a large part of the electric vehicle production manufactured in India is for export to Europe and Japan. The Malti EVX is manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat-based factory.

That this electric SUV is a global product. The Indian audience will have to wait till the India Mobility 2025 World Expo from January 17 to 22 to see the EVX in production specifications. It will be launched in India first. The EVX will compete with the new Tata Curve EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.

In terms of design, it is quite different from the concept model. It will have a horizontal LED light strip covering the entire width of the rear. Equipped with high brake light, shark fin antenna and slow-speed antenna. As far as the looks are concerned, the sloping grille, square wheels and the muscular side panel hidden in the mesh stand out. 17-inch aluminium wheels have been installed.

It is around 4300 mm long, 1800 mm wide and 1600 mm high. The Suzuki eVX will be available in single-electric motor and dual-electric motor models. Can be reserved for international markets like Europe and Japan. The eVX can be equipped with a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery and has a range of around 500 km. The pictures found during the test show a dual-spoke steering wheel and dual-screen layout.
