According to the notification issued by the Chhattisgarh Government, Labor Department, the Chhattisgarh Shop and Establishment (Regulation of Employment and Service Conditions) Act 2017 has been made effective in the entire state. Under this, it has been made mandatory for all shops and establishments employing 10 or more employees to obtain labor identification number.
A time period of 6 months has been fixed for labor identification number registration. For this, employers will have to submit Aadhaar card, partnership contract letter, property tax receipt (for urban area), Panchayat No Objection Certificate (for rural area), lease deed, Gumasta affidavit and a fee of Rs 1000 to Rs 10,000 as per the employed employees.
