Tata CNG car with turbo engine
A few days ago, Tata Motors unveiled the Nexon iCNG concept at the India Mobility Global Expo 2024. The production version is expected to be launched in India in the coming months and will be India’s first turbocharged petrol car equipped with CNG technology.
Tata Nexon iCNG
Tata Motors is taking advantage of the hype surrounding the facelifted Nexon and introducing a CNG version of it. A few years ago, Tata introduced iCNG technology in the Tiago and Tigor dual-cylinder models. However, the introduction of the country’s first dual-cylinder iCNG technology without sacrificing boot space was a major achievement.

Tata claims that the Nexon iCNG will provide better handling and performance over rough terrain with higher ground clearance thanks to better low-end torque and advanced calibration. Factory installed CNG system thermal features include fault protection, leak detection, microswitch, 6-point cylinder mounting, single control unit and high quality materials.

The famous 1.2 liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a capacity of 120 hp is used. And 170 nm, but with lower performance. It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and may also be offered with an AMT.
