The bullish trend in the Indian stock market, which has been going on for the last one week, has got a break. The Indian stock market saw strong ups and downs in Wednesday’s trading session. Sensex lost 220 points and Nifty 50 points during the day’s trading. But within a few hours, the market saw recovery from lower levels. However, the BSE Sensex ended marginally lower by 33 points at 65,446 and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended 9.50 points higher at 19,398.
In today’s trade, gains were seen in auto, IT, pharma, FMCG, metal, media energy, consumer durables, healthcare, oil and gas sectors. While banking and financial sector shares remained closed. The shares of the midcap sector saw a strong boom. It closed at 36,024 points, up 0.71 per cent, or 252 points, on buying midcap shares. Smallcap stocks also saw gains.
