Kanpur (IANS). Khushi Dubey, the widow of the Bikru murder accused in Uttar Pradesh, has said that she would never want to go back to Bikru village, where her life was ruined. Eight policemen were killed in this massacre.
Khushi Dubey is the widow of one of the accused in the murder, Amar Dubey, who was killed in an encounter three days after the incident. The Bikru massacre took place in Chaubeypur on 3 July 2020 when a police team had gone to arrest gangster Vikas Dubey.
Dubey and his men fired at the police team, eight of whom died on the spot. The police killed all the six accused in back-to-back encounters within a week.
Amar Dubey was one of them. Khushi was married just three days before the murder. After this, the police arrested more than 50 people who were directly or indirectly involved in the Bikru murder case and sent them to jail.
Khushi was a minor at the time of her arrest. She remained in jail for several months and Khushi was released in January 2023 after getting bail from the Supreme Court. According to the instructions of the court, Khushi will have to attend the Chaubepur police station every week. She had gone to mark her attendance when the media asked her whether she would go to Bikru.
Khushi said that I would not like to go to that village for the rest of my life which snatched everything from me. Khushi is now living with her parents and plans to continue her education and study law.
