Kharora police raided the house of liquor Kochia. The team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that a person has kept illegal liquor in a house located in village Keshla under Kharora area and is trying to sell it. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Kharora Police Station raided the house informed by the informer. On which the team members arrested the accused Loknath Devangan and seized 237 quarters of country liquor worth about Rs 43,000/- kept illegally from his possession and registered a crime number 588/24 under section 34(2) of the Excise Act against the accused in Kharora Police Station and took action.
Arrested accused – Loknath Devangan father late Ram Charan Devangan age 45 years resident of Ward No. 16 near Panchayat Bhawan Keshla Police Station Kharora District Raipur. During the raid by Kharora Police, a person was present in the house who told his name to be Loknath Devangan during interrogation. When the team members searched the house, they found country liquor kept in bags in the room of the house. On demanding valid documents regarding the storage of liquor from Loknath Devangan, he was continuously trying to mislead the team members by not presenting any document of any kind.
