Her nearest rival, Satyan Mokeri of CPI, is trailing with 1,45,235 votes. Counting of votes was underway at the centers and the final count was awaited. BJP candidate, young software engineer Navya Haridas was also giving a tough fight and the lead was also increasing between her and CPI veteran Satyan Mokeri, who came second.
On Priyanka Gandhi’s victory, Congress leader Mumtaz Patel says that the good news is that now we will see Priyanka Gandhi in Parliament. Speaking to ANI, he said that the party is leading in the by-elections on all three seats in Gujarat and Karnataka. Our alliance is also leading in Jharkhand. It is sad to see the results coming from Maharashtra. On this occasion, I remember my father Ahmed Patel, because Maha Vikas Aghadi was his brainchild.
