Raigarh. An incident of assault took place in the labor colony of SS Oxygen Plant at night, in which 26-year-old Virendra Khamhari was attacked with a tangi by his fellow accused Suraj Rathia and was seriously injured, who died while being taken to the medical college. On receiving the information of the incident, police station in-charge Punjipathra Inspector Rakesh Mishra reached the spot with his team. Initial investigation found that Virendra Khamhari resident Lukapara Sariya, who was a pickup driver in the plant and Suraj Rathia, who worked as a Khalasi, both lived in separate quarters in the labor colony. Both had good relations. On the day of the incident, Virendra asked Suraj for a loan. During this, a dispute broke out between the two, as a result of which Suraj attacked Virendra with a tangi.
Suraj Rathia absconded after the attack. At the same time, Virendra was taken to the medical college in critical condition, where the doctor declared him dead. Inspector Rakesh Mishra informed the senior officers about the situation and took immediate action and started searching for the accused. The absconding accused Suraj Rathia had come back to his quarter to collect his belongings, when the police surrounded him and took him into custody. In the initial interrogation, the accused Suraj Rathia, father Bandhan Rathia, age 20 years, Amagaon police station Dharamjaygarh, accepted his crime and told that there was a dispute due to Virendra asking for money, due to which he attacked Virendra. The police is conducting a detailed investigation of the case by taking the accused Suraj Rathia into custody. The accused will be produced in the court soon.
