Kerala: Yellow alert declared in 9 districts due to the effect of low pressure

Kerala: Heavy rain warning has been issued in the state due to the impact of low pressure likely to form soon in the Bay of Bengal. Yellow alert has been declared in nine districts today in view of heavy rains at isolated places. The Central Meteorological Department has issued an alert for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. On Tuesday, alert was issued in only three districts. Yellow alert has been declared in Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. Apart from this, fishing is prohibited on Kerala-Karnataka coast on Monday and Tuesday.
