KOZHIKODE: Senior Civil Police Officer Umesh Ulikunnu of Kozhikode has been dismissed from the state police force. He is currently under suspension. He was dismissed from the force on charges of serious indiscipline. The action was taken by the Pathanamthitta SP. A charge sheet was filed against him in connection with the attack on advocate Shyamali.
He had frequently criticized the Kerala police system and senior officers on social media. Disciplinary action had been taken against him approximately thirty times. He had been under suspension for a considerable period. Meanwhile, he stated that he would appeal to the DIG and approach the tribunal against the dismissal.
