Kerala High Court refuses to grant bail to the accused patient

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday rejected the bail plea of Sandeep, accused of murdering 23-year-old house surgeon Dr Vandana Das during medical examination. While she was medically examining Das after he was brought to the hospital by the police, she stabbed him to death. The court also rejected the plea of the doctor’s parents for a CBI investigation in the case as they were not happy with the police investigation. He told that his daughter was attacked when police officers were present because it was he who had bought the accused for medical examination. The horrific incident took place early on May 10 last year at the government clinic in Kottarakara in Kollam district. Sandeep’s lawyer had filed a bail plea on Tuesday stating that he was mentally unsound and under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident and he had no intention of causing the death of the woman doctor.
