Thiruvananthapuram: As heavy rains continue in many parts of the state, the Kerala government on Monday said emergency operation centers have been opened in all district collectorate and taluk offices to deal with any urgent situation.
State Revenue Minister K Rajan said special instructions have been issued to alert tourists visiting the southern state for holidays about the rainy conditions.
He stressed the need for strict rules in hilly areas in view of potential landslide hazards.
“The disaster management authority has warned that there is a possibility of mudslide on the road due to heavy rains,” he told reporters here.
He said safety boards would be installed in such areas to warn travelers about the danger of possible landslides.
