Hyderabad: Have chickens come to roost in the house of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s family? After losing power, BRS’s alleged misdeeds during its 10-year rule are coming to light.
In the first major blow to the KCR family, party MLC and his daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha have been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for their alleged role in the Delhi liquor scam. His name first surfaced in the scam in August, 2022. His arrest caused an uproar in BRS and the exodus of senior leaders to Congress and BJP dealt another blow to the pink party, which was looking solid only a short time ago. Its prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections appear uncertain.
Apart from this, ED also searched the residence of the sister of Kavita’s husband DR Anil Kumar. He suspects that his close relative Srisharan was involved in the distribution of money in the Delhi liquor scam. It is being said that this incident has spread panic among KCR’s close relatives.
KCR brother’s son Kalvakuntla Kanna Rao (Tejeshwar Rao) has been booked by Adibatala police for land grabbing and other matters. He reportedly fled to either Singapore or Malaysia. 35 members of KCR’s family are reportedly facing problems after BRS lost power. Alleged victims of members of the ruling political family, who remained silent during the 10-year BRS rule, are now coming forward to the police.
In another major blow to BRS, BRS Rajya Sabha MP Joginapalli Santosh Kumar has been booked for allegedly encroaching on land in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad following a complaint filed by Navyug Engineering Company Limited. KCR’s nephew Santosh has denied the allegation.
Although some consider him politically motivated, many key members of BRS who enjoyed power for 10 years are now facing a crisis.

Most importantly, the issue of phone tapping which is becoming bigger every day, is shaking the soul of KCR’s family. Police have intensified investigation into the case and arrested former top intelligence officials for allegedly tapping the phones of opposition party leaders, including Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his close followers.
Sources in the police department say that key members of BRS may have to face investigation in a sensitive matter. This case is likely to become a national issue as it involves violation of fundamental rights of individuals. The accused officials, who are said to be close to the former ruling party, allegedly crossed all limits and even resorted to extortion.
