Amritsar: Two students of Khalsa College of Physical Education (KCPE) – Harish Tiwari and Jagunurpreet Kaur – won bronze medals in the inter-university kickboxing competition held at Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut. Director-cum-Principal Kanwaljeet Singh said that both have been selected in the kickboxing team by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Sports University, Patiala. They participated in this competition in which 92 teams from across the country participated in inter-university competitions. He said that Harish participated in 69 kg and Jagunurpreet in 60 kg category.
Annual Awards Ceremony
DAV College held its 66th Annual Awards Ceremony here today to honor achievers in academic, sports and co-curricular activities. The chief guest was Rajya Sabha MP and Padmashri Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal. Seechewal called upon the students to take initiative in creating awareness towards the environment. He also told them about the problems faced during the Kali Bein project. He said that cleaning the Kali Bein is completely a community based and sustainable process. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harpreet Singh said that though we have achieved a lot in education and other achievements, the moral standards of the society do not match with it. He urged the students to achieve in education and learn moral, ethical and humanitarian values which will take the society to a higher level of consciousness. He also asked the students to come forward to succeed in the UPSC examinations. College Registrar Dr Anita Mahajan said the students were awarded eight college colors and 342 merit certificates.
Organization of legal seminar
Amritsar Law College hosted a two-day national seminar sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, Northwest Regional Center (ICSSR-NWRC), Chandigarh. The seminar focused on “E-commerce and Legal Literacy: Bridging the Gap for Indian Consumers” with several sub-themes. It aims to explore the emerging landscape of e-commerce in India and the legal implications surrounding it, ranging from educating consumers about the basic principles of e-commerce and online shopping to protecting personal information and complying with various government regulations. Covers a wide range of topics. Policies related to e-commerce. Twelve technical sessions of the seminar were conducted in hybrid mode, in which 214 participants from various reputed universities, institutes and colleges presented their papers. The guest of honor in the inaugural session of the seminar was Jagdishwar Kumar Chopra, Chairman, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Amritsar; Pratima Arora, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Tarn Taran.
Women in Business Meet at KCW
Commerce Club under the aegis of the Department of PG Commerce & Management in collaboration with the Product Development and Monitoring Committee under the Research and Development Cell, Khalsa College for Women (KCW), Amritsar organized “Femme D’Affaires: Women in Business” to celebrate Organized. International Women’s Day. The fair was organized to promote management, retailing, marketing and sales skills as well as entrepreneurial skills of the students. Various stalls were set up by the students, which included DIY projects, creative ideas, bed and table runners, stationery items, pani puri, chaat papri, mocktails and many other food stalls. The main attraction of the fair is sports. Principal Surinder Kaur said that the students along with the teachers did a lot of shopping and enjoyed a lot.
