Jharkhand News: Shopkeeper shot and jewellery worth crores taken away

Jharkhand News: A robbery took place at a jewellery shop in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The criminals fled after robbing jewellery worth about Rs 1.4 crore and Rs 3 lakh cash from a jewellery businessman’s shop at gunpoint. The businessman was shot during the incident. As soon as the information was received, the police of Jagannathpur police station and Hatia DSP Pramod Kumar Mishra reached the spot. A police officer said that the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the shop has been examined. Soon all the criminals will be in police custody.

The jewellery shop where the criminals committed the crime is at Birsa Chowk in Jagannathpur, Ranchi. Here is Om Verma’s shop named DP Jewellers. The robbers looted the jewellery from the shop at gunpoint. The injured Om Verma was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Police said that the crime was committed by four criminals.

The robbery incident was captured on a CCTV camera. The CCTV footage shows that the criminals are wearing helmets. They are also beating a person standing nearby. The criminals are seen keeping all the jewellery with themselves one by one. During this, a criminal shot the shop owner Om Verma.

Such incidents have happened before
This is not the first incident of robbing a jewellery shop in Ranchi. Before today’s incident, on the 13th of this month, about three robbers had looted valuable jewellery worth lakhs of rupees at gunpoint from a shop named New Panchvati Jewellers in Ranchi’s Pandra OP police station area.
