Jharkhand: Mother separated from newborn for bill, father kept feeding goat milk

Jharkhand: The Genetic Hospital management in Jharkhand crossed all limits of insensitivity. The mother was held hostage for not paying the bill of Rs 1.20 lakh. The newborn was sent home with the father. 24 days later, when a complaint was lodged against the hospital management by giving information to the CID, a team reached the hospital on Thursday and freed the woman who was held hostage. Meanwhile, the father Maglu Singh somehow raised the child by feeding him goat milk for 24 days.

Food was stopped from 6 days ago

The newborn’s mother Sunita Devi said that the child was forcibly taken away from my lap on 3 June for not paying the outstanding amount. There has been no treatment for 15 days. Food was also stopped from 6 days ago.

Husband Mangalu Singh said that he works as a MNREGA laborer in Khunti. On 28 May, wife Sunita was referred to RIMS from Khunti Sadar Hospital. However, on reaching RIMS, some people standing outside sent her to Genetic Hospital in an auto.

Director said- The talk of being held hostage is false
Hospital director Manoj Agarwal said that the talk of being held hostage for not paying the money is false. If she was held hostage, her family would not have been allowed to meet her every day. The woman had reached the hospital in a very critical condition. Seeing her critical condition, the mother and child were saved after a lot of difficulty.
