JEE Mains: 448 students from government model schools qualify

Tamil Nadu: School Education Secretary P. Chandramohan has stated that 448 students from government model schools in Tamil Nadu have passed the JEE Mains exam.
Passing the JEE entrance exam is required for admission to BE and BTech courses at central higher education institutions like IITs and NITs in the country. This exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Although the JEE Main exam is held twice a year, the NTA released the results of the exam held in January last year on the 15th.
In this situation, School Education Department Secretary P. Chandramohan has stated that 448 students studying in government model schools run by the School Education Department in Tamil Nadu have passed the JEE Mains exam.
A press release issued by them states: In the JEE Mains exam, Praveen, a student at Tiruvannamalai District Model School, scored 99.53 marks, Naresh scored 99.50 marks, and Velmurugan, a student at Ranipet District Model School, scored 99.42 marks.
Over the past four years, 2,358 students from government schools have secured admission to 93 leading institutions across 50 subjects, including IITs, National Law Universities, and the National College of Fashion Designing Technology. Currently, 41 students are studying at IITs. Meanwhile, 17 students have secured admission to universities in Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia with full financial support from the Tamil Nadu government. It states that since the model schools began in 2021, 39,044 students have studied at these institutions and progressed to higher education.
Tamil Nadu has 38 government model schools, one in each of its 38 districts. These schools serve as boarding and lodging secondary schools. It is noteworthy that over 39,000 students are currently attending and benefiting from these schools.
