Jay Shah congratulates Ganguly, Anjum and Pietersen on ICC Hall of Fame

New Delhi: International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah congratulated former India captains Sourav Ganguly and Anjum Chopra, and England power-hitter Kevin Pietersen, on the “immense honour” of being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
The ICC added three new names to the prestigious ICC Hall of Fame on Saturday, July 11, inducting Ganguly, Anjum, and Pietersen, and celebrated their achievements, outstanding work, and lasting impact, which helped shape the history of international cricket.
Shah posted on X, “I am delighted to welcome the new inductees into the @ICC Hall of Fame. This is a tribute to the extraordinary individuals whose achievements have made a huge contribution to our game. @SGanguly99, @chopraanjum, and @KP24 have all proudly led their national teams, and on behalf of the ICC, I would like to congratulate them on this well-deserved honour.”
The Class of 2026 joins an illustrious group of cricketing greats whose outstanding achievements, enduring work, and lasting impact have shaped the history of the game.
Their trio brings the total number of ICC Hall of Fame inductees to 125, further strengthening the honour roll that pays tribute to former players whose legacies inspire millions of players and fans around the world.
Launched in January 2009 as part of the ICC’s centenary celebrations, the ICC Hall of Fame honours those whose achievements, talent, and lasting impact have shaped the game’s illustrious history, ensuring that their legacy endures for generations.
Players become eligible for induction only five years after their last international match, making the ICC Hall of Fame a special tribute to those whose contributions have left an indelible mark on cricket.
