Jalandhar: The Kapurthala administration today demolished an illegal structure belonging to a female drug trafficker on the orders of the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO), Nadala. The building, constructed on panchayat land, belonged to Jagir Kaur alias Billo of Lakhan Khola. SSP Gaurav Toora said that according to the orders issued by the BDPO, Nadala, Jagir Kaur, while involved in anti-social activities, had constructed a house on panchayat land in Lakhan Khola.
According to the BDPO, Jagir Kaur was repeatedly issued notices to vacate the land, but she did not relinquish the illegal possession, following which police assistance was sought. The SSP said that eight cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against Jagir Kaur. The SSP added that as per the strict instructions of the government, the police are committed to eradicating drug trafficking and no one involved in drug trafficking will be spared.
