Jalandhar: As part of the Punjab Government’s “War Against Drugs” initiative, players displayed excellent sportsmanship in various cricket matches played under the Jalandhar Premier League, organized by Vasal Education and the District Administration. The cricket match at St. Soldier College was played between KMV Sanskriti Senior Secondary School and Government Senior Secondary School Lumma Pind. The KMV Sanskriti Senior Secondary School team scored 158 runs for all out in 18.1 overs, while the Government Senior Secondary School Lumma Pind team scored 159 runs in 11.2 overs, winning the match by 7 wickets. Similarly, the Junior Model School team won the cricket match played at DMS School between Junior Model School and DMS School. The DMS School team scored 141 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the full 20 overs, while the Junior Model School team scored 142 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 19.3 overs, winning the match by one wicket. Apart from this, in the match played at CT Institute, the team of LR Doaba Senior Secondary School was all out after scoring 104 runs in 18.5 overs. While chasing the target, the team of Innocent Heart School managed to score 107 runs in 14.1 overs and won the match by 4 wickets. The special thing is that on the instructions of the Punjab Government, with the aim of keeping the youth away from drugs and encouraging them towards a healthy lifestyle, the District Administration had started this unique initiative under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, which is getting an overwhelming response from the students and their parents.
