Jalandhar: Surprise inspection of the Raho-Jadla road.

Jalandhar: PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO today conducted a surprise inspection of the Rahon-Jadla road, constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.49 crore. The newly constructed road, approximately 11.70 kilometers long, was completed on December 15. During the inspection, the minister stated that the road was being inspected by the quality control team and directed officials to immediately collect samples and send them to the lab for quality testing. He instructed that no payment should be released until the lab reports are received and found satisfactory. The minister also directed the officials to ensure that the road shoulders and white line markings are completed before processing any payments. Emphasizing the state government’s commitment to infrastructure development, he said that the government is constructing 45,000 kilometers of roads across the state to ensure better transportation facilities.
Harbhajan Singh ETO said that this is the first time that road construction is being undertaken on such a large scale in Punjab, and all targeted roads will be completed by March 31. He asserted that no road, whether a state highway or a link road, would be found in a dilapidated condition. Issuing a stern warning, the minister said that no compromise on the quality or durability of the roads would be tolerated, and strict action would be taken against any negligent officials or contractors. The minister also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report any issues related to road quality to the department or officials so that timely corrective action can be taken. Contractors were instructed to ensure high-quality construction. Meanwhile, the minister also inspected the construction of a Primary Health Center (PHC) in Muzaffarpur village, which is being built over an area of ​​4,186 square feet and is scheduled for completion in April. During the inspection, samples of construction materials such as steel, cement, bricks, and sand were collected and will be sent to the Patiala lab for testing.
