Jalandhar: The scientific talent of students of government schools across the district was seen in the district level science exhibition organized at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Patara. The exhibition which started on Thursday reached the second day today. This exhibition was organized under the National Avishkar Abhiyan on the instructions of Director State Educational Research and Training Council Punjab. In Jalandhar, it was led by District Education Officer (SC) National Awardee Dr. Gurinderjit Kaur along with Deputy District Education Officer State Awardee Rajiv Joshi and Nodal Officer Sukhdev Lal Babbar. Today, on the closing ceremony, the winning students of senior category of 17 blocks presented their working models related to science. Block Nodal Officer Principal Jeevan Kumar said that during the two-day program, seven sub-topics related to science were given to the students, in which models were presented mainly based on food, health and hygiene, transport and communication, natural farming, disaster management, mathematical modeling, waste management and resource management. DEO Dr. Gurinderjit Kaur participated as the chief guest in today’s competitions. He motivated the students to participate in such competitions and appreciated the entire staff of Government Senior Secondary School Patara for their management. Principal Shashi Kumar appreciated the models made by the students. Media Incharge Harjeet Singh shared the results of today’s competitions. In Food, Health and Hygiene, Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Ladhewali got first position, School of Eminence Adampur got second position and Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Mand got third position. In Transport and Communication, GSSS Sarinh got first position, GSSS Basti Mithu got second position and GSSS Para got third position. In Natural Agriculture, Government High School (GHS) Wariana got first position, GHS Loharan Mankarai and GSSS Patara got second position. In Disaster Management, Government Girls Senior Secondary School (GGSSS) Adarsh Nagar got first position, GGSSS Mustafapur got second position and GGSSS Phillaur got third position. In mathematical modelling, GSSS Nurpur got first position, GSSS (Boys) Goraya got second position, SOE Ladowali Road got third position. In waste management, GSSS (Boys) Jamsher Khas got first position, GHS Apra got second position and GHS Kala Bahian got third position. In resource management, GSSS Basti Danashmanda got first position, GHS Danewal got second position and GHS Roorkee got third position. The winners were awarded with certificates and medals.
