Jalandhar: Students showcased their martial arts skills after two months of training.

Jalandhar: A two-month martial arts and self-defense training program, initiated by the Punjab Education Department under the Rani Lakshmibai Scheme as per the directions of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, concluded at Government Middle School, Dhak Narangshahpur. The training was imparted by Chief Karate Coach Naresh Kumar, a 3rd Dan Black Belt from the Indian School of Self-Defense Club, under the supervision of school in-charge Paramdeep Kaur. On the final day, the students showcased various martial arts techniques and self-defense skills, which were appreciated by all present. During the events held as part of the closing ceremony, winning students were awarded medals and certificates for their performances.
In the girls’ category, the team of Gursimran Pal, Tanveer, and Gagani secured first place and won the gold medal, while in the boys’ Kata category, Kunal Thind, Krishan Kumar, and Nitin emerged as winners, also winning gold medals. In the girls’ holding and self-defense techniques, Gursimran Pal won gold, Manvi won silver, and Jasveer Kaur won bronze. Similarly, in the boys’ self-defense and holding event, Kunal Thind won gold, Baljinder Kumar won silver, and Baljit Kumar won bronze. In the marble tile breaking event, Gursimran Pal won gold in the girls’ category, while Krishan Kumar won gold in the boys’ category. Karate coach Naresh Kumar was also honored by the school administration and SMC committee for his contribution to the training program.
