Jalandhar: Scooter rider murdered

Phagwara: A speeding truck hit a scooter rider’s bike on the national highway near Phagwara on Thursday night, killing him. The deceased has been identified as Jaspal Singh, a resident of Dhannowali village near Rama Mandi. He was returning home. However, the truck driver managed to escape leaving the truck behind. Police have registered a case under sections 304-A, 279 and 427 of the IPC.

Two thieves arrested

Phagwara: Police have arrested two migrants from Uttar Pradesh and recovered two large LCDs stolen from the guest house of Harshit Madan near Law Gate, Miheru. The accused have been identified as Munshi and Pawan, residents of Nurpur (UP). A case has been registered under sections 454, 380 and 411 of the IPC against the arrested thieves, who have confessed to their crime.

Case registered against 3 people for attacking them
Phagwara: Nakodar police have registered a case against three people for attacking a villager. Investigating officer Rajinder Pal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kulwant Singh, his son Sahil and Bhinda. All of them are residents of Nagal Jeevan village. There was an altercation between the complainant and the accused over motorcycle parking and then a fight also took place.
