Jalandhar: A school bus collided with a scooter in front of Surendra Filling Station on the Jalandhar-Pathankot Road, killing one person and injuring three others. According to reports, Poonam, a resident of Badhupur (Mukerian), was riding her scooter (PB 07-CK-7661) to drop her son Abhijot (11), daughter Mehnaz (6), and her relative’s daughter Jaishika (13) to school at around 9 a.m. A private school bus (PB 07-AS-6747) hit them, injuring the woman and the three children.
The three children were taken by ambulance to Civil Hospital, Mukerian. Doctors on duty declared Deepak’s daughter Jaishika dead. The other three injured were given first aid and sent home. Police arrived at the scene, seized the bus, and began further investigation. All three were students of St Joseph Convent School, Mukerian, studying in classes 8th, 6th and UKG, and the passengers on the bus were also from the same school.
