Jalandhar Rural Police launched a special drive to enhance security and vigilance.

Jalandhar: Jalandhar Rural Police, led by Senior Superintendent of Police S. Harvinder Singh Virk, conducted a special operation in various parts of the district on Friday. This initiative, as part of the ongoing City Surveillance Plan, was implemented in accordance with the directives of the Director General of Police, Punjab, to enhance security and vigilance. During the operation, police teams, led by Station House Officers (SHOs), set up checkpoints at specific locations in cities and towns. These blockades were often conducted unexpectedly to thoroughly check suspicious individuals and vehicles. The focus of this exercise was to closely monitor movement to prevent any illegal activity in the area and maintain strict law and order.

In addition to daytime checking, the police have also intensified night domination operations to ensure safety late at night. These efforts are primarily aimed at curbing criminal activity, building public confidence, and creating a safe environment for residents. Such operations also help improve the alertness and efficiency of the police personnel on duty. The SSP further stated that regular coordination meetings are being held with various departments and stakeholders. Special attention is being paid to traffic management in collaboration with the Traffic Department, and the directives issued by senior officers, including the Special DGP Traffic, are being strictly followed in all subdivisions under the supervision of SHOs and DSPs. Reiterating the department’s commitment, the SSP stated that the Jalandhar Rural Police is fully prepared to handle any situation and is dedicated to ensuring public safety at all times.
