Jalandhar: Police have registered a case under the NDPS Act and arrested one person after recovering opium powder during a patrol across the district. SHO Jaswinderpal stated that while the police team was on patrol duty near the Chandigarh bypass, they apprehended a woman named Asha Rani, a resident of Bajidowal in Phagwara city, on suspicion. A search of her person yielded 1 kg and 39 grams of opium powder. A case has been registered against her.
