Jalandhar: One person arrested for selling liquor

Phagwara: Bilga police have arrested a villager for selling illicit country liquor. Investigating officer Vijay Kumar said the accused has been identified as Jagjit Singh alias Sheesha, a resident of Burj Hassan village. Nine bottles of liquor have been recovered from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused.

Man arrested for theft

Phagwara: Police have arrested a man for theft. The accused has been identified as Judge Singh, a resident of Chak Bahmanian. Police had received information that the accused was involved in stealing from houses and have seized his motorcycle. A case has been registered against the accused.

Tractor driver arrested for accident

Phagwara: Police have arrested a tractor driver for causing death by negligence, endangering life or personal safety of others, rash driving on public road and mischief. The accused has been identified as Ajay Yadav, a resident of Alipur village. On January 8, the tractor hit the motorcycle of Rohit Sidhu, a resident of Nakodar, near Bir Pind village, killing him on the spot.

Man arrested for killing animals
Phagwara: Shahkot police have arrested a resident for killing animals. The accused has been identified as Mandeep, a resident of Mohalla Bagh Wala. Police had received a tip-off that the accused was involved in killing cats and other animals. A case has been registered against the accused.
Youth dies in accident
Hoshiarpur: A youth died in a road accident on Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni road. Baljinder Singh, a resident of village Kotla Gonspur, told police that his son Manjit Singh was returning to the village from Chawhal. A private bus hit him and his son died. Police have registered a case against the accused bus driver Jasvir Singh, a resident of Kaloh Ghati, Gagret, Una district and arrested the accused.

Case of fraud registered against mother and son

Hoshiarpur: A case has been registered against a woman and her son for duping people of Rs 10 lakh in the name of sending them to Australia. Suman Kumari of village Ghogra told the police that Prem Sagar, a travel agent from her village, along with his mother Harjinder Kaur, duped her son Trilok of Rs 10 lakh by promising to send him to Australia. Police have registered a case against the accused mother and son and have started further action.
