Jalandhar: A heart-wrenching incident took place near the bus stand here on Saturday morning, in which a twenty-year-old youth working in Om Visa Immigration Company allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the firm’s office located in AGI Building. The incident has been captured in CCTV camera footage, in which the deceased, identified as Gaurav, a resident of Tilak Nagar, fell down from the building, leaving everyone present on the ground floor in shock. He was immediately rushed to PIMS Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. According to the information, Gaurav was working in Om Visa for the last three years.

His family members, who reached the immigration company, protested against the company’s owner Sahil Bhatia. The family members of the deceased made serious allegations against Bhatia and said that Gaurav was under a lot of stress due to harassment at the workplace. They alleged that Gaurav could not commit suicide and someone might have done something wrong to him. According to the deceased’s brother Karan, Gaurav was unhappy with his job for some time. Karan said that he was also getting threats from the company owner. He said that Gaurav wanted to leave the company, but his boss Sahil was not accepting his resignation. Karan demanded that the case should be investigated impartially, as he and his family feel that something happened to his brother in the immigration office today, due to which he had to take this step. Meanwhile, SHO Sahil Chaudhary of Division Number 6 confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the company owner Sahil Bhatia under Section 103 of the BNS based on the statement of the deceased’s family. He said that further investigation is going on in the case. Police said that no suicide note has been recovered, so the real reason why Gaurav took this step could not be known.
