Jalandhar: IndiGo flight cancelled due to dense fog.

Jalandhar: Due to dense fog over the past two days, trains and flights in and out of the city have been delayed. On Friday, an IndiGo flight from Mumbai was cancelled. The flight was scheduled to land here at 2 pm and depart for Mumbai at 3:40 pm, but it did not arrive. The airline company informed passengers about the cancellation via SMS on their phones at 8 am. The same flight was 37 minutes late on arrival and about 20 minutes late on departure the previous day. However, the Star Air flight from Hindon-Nanded-Bengaluru arrived on time at Adampur Civil Airport on Friday. Adampur Airport Director Pushpendra Nirala said that its departure time was also as per schedule.
Passengers traveling by train are also facing considerable difficulties. Due to the fog, almost all trains are running two to five hours late. Even some premium trains are running three hours behind schedule. The Swarna Shatabdi departed from Delhi 1 hour and 10 minutes late this morning and arrived in Jalandhar three hours late. The evening Shatabdi also departed from here an hour late. The Shan-e-Punjab train to Delhi also arrived two hours late in Jalandhar. Passengers at the railway station said they were tracking train timings on their phone apps to avoid any inconvenience. Those who did not have this facility had to wait for hours on the station platforms. Sukhjit Singh, who traveled from Delhi to Jalandhar today, said, “My journey time on the train increased by two hours. It felt like the journey would never end.”
