Jalandhar: A fire broke out today at the Grand Manor Marriage Palace located in Padrana Village near Saila Khurd on Garhshankar-Hoshiarpur Road. A large part of the marriage palace was reduced to ashes in the fierce fire. The fire is feared to have caused a loss of more than one crore rupees. People and fire brigades from Nawanshahr and Quantum Paper Mill reached the spot and controlled the fire after a lot of hard work. Grand Manor Marriage Palace owners Vipan Aggarwal and Varun Gupta are not ready to say anything about the fire. Today afternoon, people suddenly saw smoke rising from the Grand Manor Marriage Palace.
The fire spread to a large part of the palace within a few minutes. A large part of the palace was burnt in no time. On receiving information about the fire, police station in-charge Baljinder Singh reached the palace with a police party. Firemen, village residents and police worked hard to control the fire. The front part of the marriage palace was completely burnt in the fire. Fortunately, no function was going on in the palace at the time of the fire. There are no reports of any casualties in the incident. SHO Baljinder Singh said, “The owners of Grand Manor Marriage Palace came to the police station to lodge a complaint. They say that their estimated loss is Rs 1.25 crore. We will investigate the entire matter to find out what caused the fire and how much loss the owners have suffered.”
