Punjab: A case of fraud of Rs 2.26 crore has come to light in Jalandhar’s MBD Group. Supplies worth Rs 2 crore 26 lakh were given, but the accused did not even order books nor returned the remaining amount. A case has been registered against Ambala resident Hemant Kakkar under sections 420, 406 of the IPC.
According to the information, the accused runs a book shop named S-7 in Chandigarh. The police will soon issue a notice and arrest the accused. In the complaint given by the victim, it was told that on January 15 last year, the accused called the branch manager of Malhotra Book Depot, Gurcharan Singh and said that his S-7 book depot is on VIP Road Zirakpur and Chandigarh City Center. The victim told that he said that he wanted to do business with him, after which he started ordering books and also kept paying on time.
Further explaining that in the month of December last year, a supply of books worth 2 crore 26 lakhs was made, after which the accused neither ordered the books nor returned the remaining amount. The matter was reported to the Commissionerate Police, after the complaint, an investigation was conducted, after 6 months of investigation a case has been registered against the accused, in which the police have registered a case in Police Station Division Number 3.
