Jalandhar: The players participating on the fourth day of the 19th All-India Balwant Singh Kapoor Under-19 Boys’ Hockey Tournament delivered outstanding performances. In the first match of the day on Wednesday, Ghumman Heera Riser Hockey Academy, Delhi defeated SAI NCOE, Imphal 2-1. Misbah Khan and Vikas scored for the winning team, while Sonu Patel scored the lone goal for the Imphal team. Pankaj Sharma of the Imphal team was declared ‘Man of the Match’. In the second match, Boys Hostel, Lucknow defeated Hockey Himachal Academy 3-0. Prince, Shivank, and Yogesh Kumar scored one goal each for the winning team. Atif Raini of Boys Hostel, Lucknow was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
In the third match, Round Glass Hockey Academy, Mohali defeated SGPC Hockey Academy, Amritsar 1-0. Utkarsh, who scored the winning goal, was declared ‘Man of the Match’. In the fourth match, Naval Tata Hockey Academy, Jamshedpur defeated Namdhari Sports Academy 2-1. Patras and Tintus scored one goal each for the winning team, with Tintus being declared ‘Man of the Match’. Rohit Singh scored the only goal for Namdhari Sports Academy. Shilpi Jaitley of DAV Institute; Olympian Baljit Singh Dhillon; another Olympian Hardeep Singh Grewal; Dronacharya Award winner Baldev Singh; Senior Olympian Rajinder Singh; Ashfaq Ullah Khan; and Parminder Kaur were the chief guests at the event.
