Jalandhar: Drug hotspots searched, networks dismantled

Jalandhar: To curb drug trafficking and criminal activities, Jalandhar Police Commissionerate carried out a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) as part of its ongoing campaign ‘Yuddh Nashiyan Viruddh’. The operation targeted known narcotics hotspots and suspected criminal hideouts in City Zone-I. The action was led by Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur under the direct supervision of DCP (Investigation) Manpreet Singh Dhillon and ADCP-I Akarshi Jain, with the respective Assistant Commissioners of Police taking part in the coordinated action. Several police teams were strategically deployed across the zone to execute the operation with precision. The teams raided several identified locations, considered to be transit points for drug traffickers, and conducted thorough searches of the houses of suspects already under surveillance.

Inspections of nearby premises were also carried out to uncover any hidden narcotics or contraband. As part of the drive, police officials conducted on-the-spot identity verification to ensure legal compliance and accountability among local residents. The search operation extended to remote and inaccessible areas, ruling out the possibility of illegal activity going undetected. Police officials confirmed that the drive was carefully planned to dismantle drug supply chains and criminal networks within the city. Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur affirmed the department’s commitment to continue such drives, saying, “Our aim is to make Jalandhar a safe, drug-free city. We are firmly committed to eradicating the drug menace and protecting the health and safety of our citizens.”
