Jalandhar: DAV College, Jalandhar, has won the Guru Nanak Dev University Inter-College Football Tournament. They defeated Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, 1-0 in the final league match. Anmolpreet Singh’s solitary goal in the 89th minute, assisted by Player of the Match Shivam Thakur, sealed the victory for DAV College, Jalandhar, and secured the top spot in the tournament. During their winning streak, DAV College, Jalandhar, also achieved impressive victories against Guru Nanak College, Phagwara (5-0), and Sikh National College, Banga (4-0). DAV College’s victory demonstrates the players’ skill, teamwork, and dedication to the game. College officials congratulated the team on their remarkable achievement and wished them continued success in the future.
Dr. Manu Sood, Head of the Physical Education Department, congratulated the DAV College football team on their victory. This victory will surely motivate our students to excel in their respective fields.” He also noted that this is the team’s second major success this year, as the college team, playing under the banner of Kehar Sporting Club, previously won the Punjab Football League Tier 2 Championship.
