Jalandhar: Case registered against youth for kidnapping a minor
Jalandhar: On Friday, Shri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha MP Malvinder Singh Kang reviewed the progress of various ongoing development projects and welfare schemes in Jalandhar district. He directed officials to accelerate the pace of work and ensure their timely completion. Chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at the District Administrative Complex, the MP reviewed approximately 35 programs, covering a variety of development projects and public welfare schemes. Discussing central and state government schemes with officials, Kang emphasized that there should be no delay in their implementation. He stressed the importance of ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary.
The meeting was attended by MLAs Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi and Dr. Nachattar Pal, DC Ankurjit Singh, SSP Tushar Gupta, and other senior officials. The MP reviewed fund allocation, progress, and recently completed works under various projects. He directed that MPLAD funds be utilized promptly and utilization certificates be submitted to officials without delay. He also reviewed efforts to provide drinking water in rural areas, including the installation of new tube wells. In the health sector, he reviewed programs such as the Janani Suraksha Yojana, the Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram, the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program, and measures to prevent water-borne diseases.
In addition, the MP reviewed progress made under the Swachh Bharat Mission, including open defecation-free villages and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. He directed officials to increase public awareness about National Social Assistance Programs, including old-age, widow, disability, and family benefit pensions, to ensure better access to beneficiaries. During the session, Kang also reviewed the National Food Security Act and the Smart Ration Card Scheme, and discussed progress made under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, and other flagship programs. He asked the officials to guarantee that all projects are completed without any delay and on time.
