Jalandhar: District police has registered three cases against four accused for cheating of Rs 31.55 lakh in the name of sending abroad. According to the information, Davinder Singh, a resident of Basant Nagar, filed a petition in the Punjab Haryana High Court and told that travel agent Sandeep Kaur, resident of Kapurthala, along with her husband Maninder Singh, cheated him of Rs 10 lakh by luring him to send his son Sarvjot to Canada. On the order of the court of Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj, SSP got the complaint investigated by DSP (City). Investigation revealed that Maninder Singh has died.
After this, the police have registered a case against Sandeep Kaur and started investigation. In the second incident, Malkit Singh, a resident of Dasuya, has lodged a complaint with the police that travel agent Sandeep, resident of Mohali, along with his employee Nancy, cheated him of Rs 5.55 lakh by luring him to send him to Canada. In the third incident, Sandeep Singh, a resident of Joda village, told Tanda police that he had been duped of Rs 21 lakh in the name of getting his daughter Anmoldeep Kaur a study visa and admission in a college abroad. Police have registered a case in this regard and started action.
