Jalandhar: Aatmasukh Ashram secured second place in the State Special Olympics.

Jalandhar: Atmasukh Ashram of Hoshiarpur has brought laurels to the district and the state by securing the second position in the Top-3 (Large Schools) category at the 26th Punjab State Special Olympics-2025. This prestigious state-level event was recently held at Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar. The Punjab State Special Olympics-2025 witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 700 athletes from 23 districts and 30 special schools across Punjab. Competing on such a large platform, the athletes from Atmasukh Ashram delivered an inspiring performance, proving that determination and confidence can overcome any challenge.
A team of 12 special children from Atmasukh Ashram participated in various sporting events and performed exceptionally well. Their collective efforts resulted in the Ashram winning the second trophy in the Top-3 (Large Schools) category. In total, the athletes secured 22 medals, including nine gold, eight silver, and five bronze medals, reflecting their hard work and sporting excellence. This achievement is a testament to the children’s discipline, dedication, and consistent practice, along with the tireless guidance of their coaches and teachers. The Ashram management stated that this success highlights the hidden potential, capabilities, and growing confidence of children with special needs. Expressing his delight, Navdeep Sood, Chairman of the Tek Chand Sood Charitable Trust, congratulated the special children and the entire Ashram team.
He said, “This achievement has made us all proud. Our special children have shown that with love, guidance, and opportunities, they can achieve anything.” He also appreciated the efforts of the teaching staff, especially Principal Pawan Singh, Sapna, and Manisha, as well as all the staff members and volunteers. He added, “The dedication of the teachers and staff has played a crucial role in shaping the confidence and skills of these children.” On this occasion, Navdeep Sood also announced special awards to further encourage the children. He said, “These awards are a small token of recognition for their great achievement and will inspire them to aim for even higher goals in the future.” The success of Atmasukh Ashram at the Punjab State Special Olympics-2025 is a powerful message of inclusion, hope, and belief in the abilities of children with special needs, inspiring society to support and celebrate their talents.
