Jalandhar: 2 more suspects arrested in 48.5 kg heroin case

Jalandhar: Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has arrested two more suspects linked to the drug syndicate busted in April this year in which 48.5 kg heroin was seized. The suspects have been identified as Jasveer Kaur alias Jogga of Lakhanpal and Parveen Kumari of Lakhpur, SBS Nagar, who were arrested in a follow-up operation. Police recovered 100 grams of heroin and a white i-20 car (registration number PB78-A-8512), which was allegedly used in their drug smuggling activities. Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said that in a major raid on April 27 this year, police arrested 13 people and seized drug money worth Rs 1.05 crore, six luxury vehicles and a truck from the possession of the suspects. A case was registered under FIR No. 57 at Division No. 1 police station, involving several sections of the NDPS Act. Sharma reiterated the police’s commitment to crackdown on all those involved in the syndicate. “Our fight against drug trafficking is unrelenting. We will bring every culprit to justice,” he said.
