Dhamtari. State Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai attended the inaugural ceremony of Jal Jagar Mahotsav organized at Ravishankar Reservoir Gangrel Dam of the district as the chief guest. On this occasion, the Chief Minister while addressing the program said that Jal Jagar Mahotsav is being celebrated by the District Administration Dhamtari for water and environmental conservation, which is an exemplary initiative. He said that water is being exploited excessively, but no attention is paid to water conservation. The water level was also going down in Dhamtari district, but Jal Jagar has brought positive and revolutionary change, for which the district administration deserves congratulations.
Chief Minister Sai congratulated the people on Navratri while remembering the deities of the area in the program organized at Ravishankar Reservoir Gangrel Dam. He said that if any person is determined to do something big, then it is not a big deal. It is our task to fulfill the Prime Minister’s resolution of providing tap water to every house in a quality manner under Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that Niyyad Nella Nar Yojana is being run for the tribals of the Maoist affected area, whose positive results are being seen. The government is committed to eradicate Naxalism. The Prime Minister’s resolution of a developed India by 2047 has to be realized, the Chief Minister also called upon all the people to plant trees in the name of mother. Presiding over the program, the State’s Parliamentary Affairs, Forest and Climate Change, Water Resources, Skill Development and Cooperative Department Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that the district administration is doing better and initiative work towards saving water, which is exemplary not only for Dhamtari but for the entire state and the country. He said that through Jal Jagar, we can give a big gift to the coming generation.
Addressing the program as a special guest, the State’s Sports and Youth Welfare, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister and District In-charge Minister Shri Tankaram Verma said that water conservation is very important in today’s environment. The Prime Minister has given a message by providing water to every house under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Everyone has to understand the value and importance of water. He explained the importance of water through a Chhattisgarhi song. Former Cabinet Minister and Kurud MLA Shri Ajay Chandrakar said that this is an innovative program in itself. Despite having 04 big reservoirs in Dhamtari district, the falling groundwater level here is a matter of concern. Water conservation with community participation is commendable and it has to be made a movement of the people. Apart from this, Mahasamund MP Smt. Roopkumari Chaudhary, Kanker MP Shri Bhojraj Nag also praised the Jal Jagar Mahotsav going on in the district and called it exemplary. On this occasion, Kanker MLA Shri Asharam Netam, former MLA Smt. Ranjana Sahu, Shri Shravan Markam, Smt. Pinky Shah, Shri Inder Chopra along with public representatives and senior citizens were present on the stage.
