Jaipur: Additional Chief Secretary reviewed seasonal diseases
Jaipur Jaipur. Additional Chief Secretary of Medical and Health Department, Mrs. Shubhra Singh said that effective management of prevention of seasonal diseases should be done with inter-departmental coordination. There should be no shortage in this. She directed to ensure better arrangements for prevention and control by doing inter-departmental coordination through District Collectors in the more affected districts.
She was reviewing the status of seasonal diseases in her chamber. She said that the innovation of online monitoring of seasonal diseases should be further strengthened through ODK App. Treatment of mosquito breeding places should be done through the Department of Autonomous Governance and Panchayati Raj Department.
The Additional Chief Secretary, while reviewing dengue, malaria and chikungunya diseases district wise, said that the condition of seasonal diseases is currently under control in the state. The status of control over dengue and malaria in 46 districts of the state is better than last year, but there is a need to be alert and vigilant in view of the monsoon. She said that due to increase in the number of water sources in monsoon, mosquito breeding is more. Also, the Government of India and public health experts have expressed the possibility of more spread of mosquito-borne diseases in the country this year in view of the cyclical pattern. In view of this, the desired action for prevention and control should be ensured. Mrs. Singh emphasized on making the general public aware to prevent mosquito-borne diseases. During the meeting, she discussed with the District Collectors of Kota and Jaisalmer and took information regarding the measures to prevent and control malaria. Also, by evaluating the reporting of seasonal diseases at the state level, she directed the concerned districts to take feedback and improvement measures.
The Additional Chief Secretary directed to run a special campaign to prevent dengue and malaria in coaching institutes and hostels. He said that along with regular inspection in coaching centers and hostels etc., students should be encouraged to take precautions.
Director Public Health Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur, Additional Director Rural Health Dr. Praveen Aswal, Deputy Director Malaria Dr. Nirmala Sharma and other officers were present in the meeting.
