Jagatguru Shankaracharya reacts over Digha Jagannath Temple controversy

Puri: Jagatguru Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati, the head of Puri Shankaracharya Matha has reacted over the Digha, West Bengal Jagannath temple controversy on Wednesday.

Mahaprabhu was first established by Brahma. Later, Bhagwan Shankaracharya again established Darubrahma as Bhagwan.

Mamata Banerjee is in the government in West Bengal. Puri pandas and shopkeepers get profit as tourists from West Bengal visit Puri. That is why she cleverly established the temple there (to divert the tourists).

Devotees from West Bengal come to Puri and give donations. So it can be said that a major portion of the livelihood of the pandas and shopkeepers in Puri comes from visitors from West Bengal. Hence, the Digha temple was made so that the money can be diverted there. Greed for money is the reason behind the temple administration while name of Lord Jagannath is used for this, he said.

He also said that such a conspiracy was made earlier, but it could not be successful.
