TEL AVIV: Israeli troops killed more than 30 Hamas militants in the Zitoun area of Gaza City the previous day, the Israel Defense Forces said on Monday morning. As Israel’s 401st Armored Brigade consolidated its control over the area, the terrorists were eliminated.
During an operation in Zeitoun, ground forces launched an airstrike on a sniper manning a post in a compound near troops, killing him. Meanwhile, in Khan Yunis, soldiers killed many terrorists with tanks and sniper fire. Additionally, ground forces directed an air strike on a compound where two Hamas militants were hiding. After the attack, secondary explosions were detected, indicating that both had multiple weapons.
Troops also conducted targeted raids on Hamas infrastructure in Khan Yunis and seized grenades, ammunition, military equipment and weapons parts. In other areas of Khan Yunis, several Hamas militants were killed in close combat, while another militant armed with an RPG was spotted near troops and killed in an airstrike.
Israeli forces also killed another 10 Hamas militants in central Gaza. On October 7, Hamas attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border killed at least 1,200 people and took 240 Israelis and foreigners hostage. Of the remaining 134 hostages, Israel recently declared 31 of them dead. (ANI/TPS)
