Israel: The relations between India and Israel are very special. The two countries work together on many issues, including defense. In this context, Israel has provided specially designed light machine guns to India as part of an agreement between the two countries. 2,000 light machine guns, called NEGEV 7.62×51, reached India last week. Another 4,000 machine guns are also expected to arrive by the end of this year.
An agreement has been signed with Israel to supply a total of 41,000 machine guns to India. The manufacturing of these guns is currently ongoing. These guns have been manufactured as part of Make in India. That is, they have been manufactured by the Adani Group of India and the Israeli government-owned arms manufacturing company IWI (Israel Weapons Industries). These two companies have formed a new company called PLR Systems and are manufacturing these. This is the first time that a private company (Adani Group) has manufactured weapons in India. These are 7.62 mm light machine guns. These guns work with light weight and accuracy. There are two types of these, semi-automatic and automatic. They can use 7.62 mm bullets.
They work faster and stronger in any environment. These guns can be launched from anywhere, including helicopters, vehicles, and naval sites. They can hit targets even in low light. They meet NATO standards in terms of weapons. They are also computerized weapons. India will import more weapons from Israel.
