ISL team FC Goa confirms Sandesh Jhingan’s right knee injury New Delhi: Indian Super League (ISL) team FC Goa on Tuesday shared an update on defender Sandesh Jhingan’s injury. The Indian international suffered a right knee injury during the Blue Tigers’ third and final group-stage match against Syria at the AFC Asian Cup 2023. Following the injury, Jhingan has been recommended by medical professionals not to participate in competitive matches after undergoing several tests. The 30-year-old defender joined the Goa-based club’s lineup during the summer transfer window, and formed a strong partnership with Odei Onindia at the centre-back position. “FC Goa is sad to announce that defender Sandesh Jhingan has suffered a right knee injury while on duty with the senior Indian national men’s team at the AFC Asian Cup 2023. Meanwhile, his injury just ahead of the resumption of the current ISL season is a major blow to the team, which is passionately pursuing the ISL League Shield. The ISL club will consult medical professionals to examine Jhingan’s condition and determine the most effective action for his rehabilitation. However, the Gaur family has not revealed any exact date for his return.
