IRS officer Sameer Wankhede may contest elections

Mumbai: After the announcement of the dates of Maharashtra assembly elections, political activities have intensified. According to sources, the famous IRS officer Sameer Wankhede is going to join Shiv Sena soon.

According to the information, Wankhede can contest elections on the ticket of Mahayuti. It is being claimed that he can be given a ticket from Dharavi seat. Dharavi is identified as Asia’s largest slum. Sameer Wankhede’s candidature from here is likely to give a new direction to the party. His entry has increased the chances of new equations being formed in the political scenario.

Wankhede has an image of a strict officer. On October 2, 2021, Wankhede raided the luxury ship, Cordelia Cruise, off the Mumbai coast to bust drugs and arrested more than 17 people from the glamour world, including Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan. Aryan Khan spent a month in jail, and after his release, a high-level NCB investigation concluded that he was innocent and was framed in that case.

Let us tell you, elections for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra will be held in one phase on November 20, while counting of votes will take place on November 23. According to the Election Commission of India, more than one lakh polling stations will be set up for the assembly elections in Maharashtra. The Chief Election Commissioner said that the ECI is committed to ensuring a smooth voting experience through inclusive and accessible elections in both the states.

Rajiv Kumar had told that 9.63 crore voters will vote in the Maharashtra assembly elections, including 4.97 crore male voters, while 4.66 crore female voters are included. Apart from this, 1.85 crore young voters are between the ages of 20 and 29 years.

At the same time, 20.93 lakh voters will take part in the voting for the first time. 12.43 lakh voters are above 85 years of age. Along with this, the number of transgender voters is also 6,031.
