Washington: Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, is currently visiting Iran. In Tehran, he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. However, Asim Munir is making efforts to reduce tensions between the US and Iran. An agreement has already been reached between Iran and the US on some issues regarding the war. There are still some unresolved issues in the context of the two-week ceasefire. A senior Iranian official said that an agreement has not been reached between the two countries on Iran’s nuclear weapons programs. An official said that the standoff between the US and Iran has eased somewhat with the arrival of Asim Munir.
The official said that some points have been agreed upon, but there is a sense that the ceasefire will be extended further due to the talks between Tehran and Washington. He said that differences are emerging between the US and Iran only in the nuclear sector. The official said that it is known that there is no agreement yet on the issue of enriched uranium as well as nuclear sanctions. The Pakistani foreign representative said that the dates for the second round of talks between the US and Iran have not been fixed yet. He said that the countries are currently discussing nuclear issues.
