IPL 2023: Riley Rossouw of Delhi Capitals said, batting with David Warner was great

Lucknow (IANS) | Delhi Capitals started their campaign in the 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on a disappointing note as they lost to Lucknow Supergiants by 50 runs. The Lucknow team posted a score of 193 for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs and then restricted Delhi Capitals to 143/9.

However, there were some good things for the former IPL finalist in that match. Opener and captain David Warner’s fifty and his 38-run partnership with middle-order batsman Rilee Rossouw. It was the only notable partnership in a weakened middle-order in the absence of Rishabh Pant, who is recovering from injuries sustained in a car crash.

Speaking about the game, Rossouw said, “Unfortunately, we didn’t get the win. Chasing 190 on that wicket was a bit high. It’s been great to be back in the IPL.”

Rossouw, who scored 30 off 20 balls, will be wondering what else he could have done better on Saturday.
