Investment of Rs 1 lakh crore proposed in Ujjain Business Conclave

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday said investment proposals worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore came on the inaugural day of the regional industry conference in Ujjain. In a departure from the previous practice of confining the investment summit to the state’s commercial capital Indore, the two-day summit began in the holy city of Ujjain this morning.

“On the very first day of the conclave, investment announcements worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore have been made. This is a remarkable achievement. Land has been allotted for 283 industrial projects, which promise to provide direct employment to more than 20,000 people,” Chief Minister Yadav told the media after the inaugural session.

Encouraged by the success achieved on the first day of the conclave, the CM announced that in future, similar events will be organized in other cities including Jabalpur, Rewa and Gwalior. Notably, a major chunk of the mega investment announcements and proposals on the first day came from the Adani Group. Participating in the inaugural session, Adani Enterprises Limited Director Pranab Vinod Adani announced an investment of Rs 75,000 crore in the state, of which Rs 5,000 crore will be allocated for the construction of the Mahakal Expressway.

During the program, the Chief Minister also gave approval letters to industrialists under the important scheme of renewable energy sector, PM Kusum Yojana. The CM also inaugurated and dedicated 61 units costing Rs 10,064 crore. These units have been set up in various districts of the state and include the new unit at Vikram Udyogpuri in Ujjain district.
Ujjain is the home district of Chief Minister Yadav. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the conclave, popular television series ‘Shaktimaan’ fame actor Mukesh Khanna said that he discussed with the Chief Minister about setting up a mega film city (which will have several facilities including Shaktiman Park) and a film industry. And acting training institute. There will be an investment of Rs 800 crore in this project.
Apart from the regional industry conference, the CM also inaugurated Vikramotsav-2024 and Ujjaini Trade Fair-2024 organized by the state culture department, Swaraj Sansthan, Ujjain district administration at Kalidas Academy in Ujjain.
