Bilaspur. The High Court has shown sensitivity in a case of urgent hearing. The court opened before time to hear the petition of a homeless woman. The case was heard in the division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice BD Guru. The woman from Durg had demanded urgent hearing. Because after the FIR was registered in the police station, the woman’s husband is missing. The Durg Police Administration has sealed the woman’s house without warning. The woman has filed a petition to open the sealed house. The court has issued a notice to the Durg IG and directed him to hear the case soon.
Usha Kaur, a resident of Durg, appealed to the High Court to open the house sealed by the police. The petitioner said – She lives with her family in the house which has been sealed by the police. Due to the house being sealed, she and her family members have become homeless. The petitioner had also given a representation to the Inspector General of Police, Durg on 30.09.2024 to open the seal of the housing house and search for the missing husband, but till now the matter is pending. In fact, in one case, the name of the petitioner’s husband is registered in the FIR along with other persons. He is missing since the FIR was registered. During the hearing of the case, the state government told the court that the police has not arrested the petitioner’s husband. When the petitioner’s husband was found involved in a case, the police went to the petitioner’s house for interrogation, the house was locked, so the police sealed it.
Hearing the urgent hearing, the division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice BD Guru issued a notice to IG Durg, and asked to hear the petitioner’s representation soon and give a decision on it. The court has asked the petitioner to contact Durg IG and submit the representation.
